Gain the skills and tools to be successful in the high-employment field of child care. In this curriculum developed by the NM Children, Youth, and Families Department, students complete 35 hours of theory, lecture, and review, in addition to a 10-hour field observation experience, to fulfill the Minimum Early Childhood Education (ECE) Pre-service Qualifications set by the National Child Care Information Center. Training includes the seven required for Early Child Care Certification, and theUNM Children’s Campus for Early Care and Education, a five-star child care facility, is available to our students for the field observation component.
