Grant and Eisenhower: Great Generals and Underrated Presidents?

ID : 80242
« back to classes page
There have been 12 presidents who were generals.  U.S. Grant and Dwight Eisenhower are considered two of the greatest generals in American History. The word, great, has often not been applied to their presidencies. It started first with Eisenhower and then with Grant. More historians are now arguing that the assessment of these two men as president was incorrect. The class will look at their careers and at why reputations have risen about their presidencies.
