An Introduction to Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a type of anxiety disorder causing extreme stress and discomfort. OCD affects over two million adults in the US. OCD appers in a fascinating array of symptoms and behaviors, including handwashing, constant counting, superstitions, extreme fears of hurting loved ones and checking locks over and over again. OCD ruins lives. You probably know someone with this problem, as millions of Americans suffer from OCD. We'll describe the viciious cycle of OCD, the treatments that work and treatments that merely prolong suffering. We'll also provide resources for further study.
