Do you want to become a Jr. Gemologist and be a real “rock” star? This fun and informative class will introduce students to the fascinating world of gems through a variety of hands-on projects from growing your own egg crystal geode to participating in a gem mining contest.  The students will have a unique opportunity to explore what a gem is and how it is formed within the earth, how people’s labor brings them into use, and why we have valued gemstones throughout time.
