Come learn about today’s most exciting GIS software and why you should be using it. It’s called QGIS, and Continuing Education now offers two QGIS courses taught by local QGIS expert and author Kurt Menke. QGIS is the leading open source desktop GIS. GIS is software for cartography and spatial analysis. QGIS is comparable to ArcGIS in overall functionality. However, unlike ArcGIS, it can be installed on any operating system, and it’s free! You can use it to produce publication-quality maps with effects only found in QGIS. You can also conduct sophisticated analyses via its hundreds of geoprocessing tools. There are hundreds of plugins available as additional add-ons. Come by this short session to learn about QGIS and the upcoming courses.
