Ahlan wa Sahlan! Welcome to Survival Arabic, which will introduce you to a vibrant language spoken by almost 360 million people. Because Arabic is now associated with pro-democracy protests, the war on terror, and the Quran, its importance extends far beyond North Africa and the Middle East. The course will focus on key conversational scenarios as well as on literacy and cultural considerations in a semi-intensive format. At the end of the course, students will be able to communicate their basic needs in any Arab country. The instructor has worked for more than six years in the Middle East and has taught foreign languages for 20 years.
