Quilting 102: All Star Quilts

ID : 82135
« back to classes page
This is the first class I have taught using Eleanor Burns book. The featured block is a 28" Feathered Star. The Feathered Star is typically a difficult block. This one isn't. Eleanor's directions are spot on using triangle pieced squares, strip pieced diamonds and no set in seams. The 5 stars used in this quilt are traditional- with a twist. You will learn new and exciting ways to make the stars. She also shows how to machine quilt the quilt using a conventional sewing machine. This is for the Confident Beginner or Intermediate quilter who wants a challenge. Skills needed for this class: Use a rotary cutter and ruler with accuracy, sew an accurate 1/4" seam, press not iron, and, read and understand quilting vocabulary. Eleanor provides three different sized quilts-from a wall hanging to a twin bed size. You can decide the size you want to make. Sample and Supply Sheets are available at the Quilt Works. You can e-mail me with any questions at CarolBell99@msn.com [put "Quilting 102" in the subject line.]
