The UNM Children’s Chorus, a division of the UNM Music Prep School, is a non-auditioned chorus for any child who wishes to sing. Singers must be willing to work as a team, commit to weekly rehearsals and to pursue the development of musicianship through singing. The choirs perform in at least two concerts per year for the community. Note: Each NEW singer will purchase a $12 polo shirt from the UNM Music Prep School for the concert uniform.
Lobo Choir (2nd -5th grades) - Lobo Choir offers children a safe place to explore their singing voices in the context of an ensemble. Through a variety of musical activities, children begin to develop a strong sense of part independence. Throughout our time together there is a focus on music literacy, which will prepare the children for more advanced ensembles.
Teacher: Penny Voss holds a graduate degree in choral conducting from UNM. Ms Voss is a Certified Kodály Specialist and teaches Upper School Music at Manzano Day School.
