Are you curious about this perplexing art form that evades definition and artistic classification? By the end of the 19th century, artists were looking for different means to reflect the changes in technology, science and thought going on in the world around them. We’ll explore the history of abstract art. We’ll discuss and view the work of artists such as Wassily Kandinsky, Poet Mondrean, Saloria Raouda Choucair, Kirk Pollack and more. How does abstract art use a visual language of shape, form, color and line to create composition which forms a degree of independence from visual reference in the world? Arshile Gorky said “Abstraction allows man to see with his mind what he cannot see physically with his eyes.” Come learn to decipher some of the mystery that is Abstract Art!
