Edit programs like Final Cut Pro, Premiere and AVID provide the film and video editor with an amazing array of tools. What the editor has to provide is the art and craft of storytelling - the knowledge of how to put together a good edit. Whether it’s a Feature, a Documentary or a commercial, the editor needs the eye and ear for making the edit successful. In this course we look at the essentials of Editing: storytelling, timing, rhythm, and dramatic structure. We look at examples, and apply hands on exercises to introduce you to these indispensable tools. The course will complement your classes taken for Final Cut Pro or Premiere Pro, and enrich your ability to create a compelling edit out of any material.
